Cover The Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen
by Dyan Sheldon
J SHE
Lola wants to be a star.  [She] moves out of New York and [goes to] a new school called Degewood ("Deadwood"), and survives the life of a drama queen.  I like Lola because she's like me and she wants to be a star.  I would recommend this book to other teens because it is a good book for people who believe they're going to be famous no matter what.

Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams
J ADA or Fiction Adams
It's a humorous parody of a science fiction book.  A normal man, Arthur Dent, is whisked away from Earth on a space ship by his friend Ford Prefect, who is an alien.  Arthur is shy, quiet, and bewildered by what is happening to him.

Cover Joey Pigza Swallowed the Key by Jack Gantos
J GAN
Joey, who has ADD, is taken out of his school and put in a special ed school where he learns to calm down and think before he acts.  I liked Joey because he tried to be a normal kid, but it is really hard for him.  He does a lot of really funny, but bad, things because of his ADD.  I would recommend this book because of the "strange" things he does.

Cover Parsifal's Page by Gerald Morris
J MOR
Piers goes off to be a page, and ends up coming home finding out more about his dad than he ever knew.  I like Parsifal because even though at the beginning he was young and in search of adventures, he found that any adventure is not worth it without the one you love.  I recommend this book to other teens because King Arthur's time fascinates me.  Maybe it will do so to others.

Annabel is living with her mother in New York.  Her father, who is married with two stepkids, invites Annabel to stay with him for the summer.   This is a good book about learning that there may be others in people's lives and that you are not the "star."
